Hi Mr. Administrator....

I am strongly considering this Panasonic - AGHVX200 over the JVC GYHD100U. I'm new to the video world, but have many years of photography under my belt. I would really like to see the video clip that was posted in the article, but unfortunately the link doesn't work. Do you happen to have another link, or could I get it via FTP so I could see what everyone is talking so highly about?

Best regards,

Chris

Hey Christopher,

The footage does look fantastic... Panasonic HVX200 is the only one to support 60 FPS so it's your best bet short of a 16mm Arri. 16mm Arris can shoot up to 75 FPS with their standard motor and they can be upgaded to 150 FPS. So the HVX200 is not much worse than a standard 16mm camera which is saying a LOT.

As to interchangeable lenses ... it's a shame, I know. Probably Panasonic don't want to cannibalize their "Varicam" which offers that and much more.

On the other hand there are lens adaptors that can modify the standard lens. In addition, there's 2 manufacturers (more like workshops) that offer a 35mm adaptor for the HVX200. It will enable you to use ANY 35mm lens - much like Canon XL H1. Rumors put it at $999...

wow - that footage looks amazing. even with the dixv compression. these cameras are getting great. are there any cameras that support higher frame rates? i've seen wakeboarding footage (my passion), that must have been shot on film at something like 120fps - amazing looking.

thanks for the reviews. this camera looks fantastic.
