My recent visit to B&H Photo and Video revealed an interesting aspect of Canon’s upcoming HD flagship, the XL H1. The price of the new camera is several notches higher than I expected. B&H pegged it at $8,999 - twice the price of SONY’s FX1.
I hope Canon brings down the price because otherwise the Canon XL H1 might turn into a collector’s item. Interchangeable lenses are important but come on, Canon doesn’t have any HD lenses apart from the standard one. On top of that, JVC GY-HD100U already offers that.

I don’t see how a lot of the wedding videographers will justify a camera like that. Aspiring filmmakers on the other hand might go for Canon but I doubt it. Panasonic HVX200 seems to be all around the better cam in terms of frame rates and overall flexibility. Of course, actual footage will decide which is more filmlike. If $9,000 is too much for you, you could get Sony HC1 - it’s a more affordable, entry-level HDV camcorder.
I want to buy this camera xl H1 CANON, BUT I WANT YOU TO GIVE ME DISCOUNT
